The LG DLEX6500B Dryer is the first appliance I've owned that makes me want to pull my hair out! I've bought 3 washer/dryer sets in my adult life and this is the first one to ever give me problems. The first issue started occurring within 7 months of ownership. As the dryer ran with wet clothes, I could hear a scraping sound coming from within, a rhythmic sound that occurred as the drum turned. I called LG support and man, they were insistent that this problem was caused by damaged during installation. I tried to explain that I had owned and operated the dryer for 6 month without issue, so it didn't make sense for the "damage" to lay silently for 6 months before making itself known. Plus, I watched the installation first hand, it was fast, simple and damage-free (thanks Best Buy). Finally after getting the runaround for about a week, I recorded a video of the dryer making the noise, uploaded it to YouTube, made the video available to the public using the LG brand and model name in the title and sent it to LG and said I'd only remove the video after my dryer was fixed. Then suddenly LG customer service was eager to help. They sent a repair guy. He confirmed the sound, disassembled the front of the dryer and was flummoxed. He admitted he was unfamiliar with LG appliances and he just tried to tape up the duct work inside the dryer to prevent rattling. He put it back together and said he'd recommend having the unit replaced if the sound continued. I called LG back and explained this and they decided to send a second repair person. This time, the repair person was actually an LG-certified tech. He took one listen and said, "I know exactly what it is, I've seen this before on LG front load dryers." The problem was that the blower fan was scraping the sheet metal cowl/housing around it, sending this scraping sound echoing through the ductwork within the dryer. The solution? A single washer added between the blower fan and the metal cowl, giving it just enough clearance to run without scraping. Again, the second repairman knew exactly what the problem was and reported having done this repair to other LG dryers. Why didn't customer service seem to be aware of the issue? If things ended there, I wouldn't feel compelled to write this review. But literally 13 months into ownership, 1 month AFTER the manufacturer warranty expired (a 13 month old dryer at this point), the display/control dial has decided to start shutting itself off randomly. The only way to get the display to turn back on is to either unplug the dryer (which is impossible for me because of the way it installed) or to cycle the breaker that the dryer is on (my solution). I have to do this about once a month. Typical scenario is either 1) I'll randomly walk by the dryer and see that the display is off or 2) I'll be doing laundry and the display will randomly turn itself off during a drying cycle. The unit will continue to run, but the display turns off and the dial, power button, and start/stop buttons become unresponsive until the power to the unit is cycled. Is it possible the display is failing because the entire front of the dryer was disassembled twice in a row, once by someone who had never even worked on an LG dryer? Not out of the question. What would be your conclusion if this was your dryer? I'd like to say, the washer is perfect in every way. And I even like the dryer when it is working correctly! It's just proven to be the most unreliable major appliance I've ever purchased, which is a disappointment. Everytime I walk by it, I am compelled to look at the display to see if it is working. Eventually, the display will stop working entirely and I'll have to have someone replace it. I'm going to bet the entire control board will require replacement and I'm also going to bet it's the single most expensive component in the entire dryer. Oh well, live & learn! Sorry LG, I'll be spending my money elsewhere on the next set.

I’m very pleased with my new dryer. It’s unbelievably quiet, and dries our clothes very quickly.

A great machine makes the regular tasks like laundry a but more easier. The smart settings and app male laundry days a breeze when I'm running around. The install service was a horrific experience where damage occured. I'm still dealing with the installer's claim department. Other than that, the machines were a great deal buying on sale.

Works great! We have enjoyed its use for the short time we have had it.

I am very pleased with this LG 7.4 CuFt Dryer. The various features are very easy to use. I like that it can receive data from the washer to suggest the dryer cycle to use. It is easy to choose a different cycle if preferred. It notifies my phone when the cycle is done. I haven't used the steam feature yet but have used the wrinkle free option.

Recommend buying all your appliances from Best Buy. Great customer service and warranty plans

THIS IS A REALLY NICE DRYER SO FAR SO GOOD IT DISPLAYS NICE AND EASY TO USE AND DRIES FAST

A great dryer that we bought with the matching washer. It has many cycles and it’s easy to use. Two things that weren’t clear to us was it doesn’t come with a power cord so that slowed down installation, secondly we needed to have a side vent option and of course we knew this was an option but not that we would also have to buy a side vent kit. And finally you have to also buy the steam water line if you want to use that feature so easily add on a $50-100 to the price you see if you need these options.

it’s a beautiful appliance. purchased the washer too. best buy geek squad did a great job of delivering, unpacking and hooking up. they even hauled away my old washer and dryer. haven’t used the dryer much but i did dry a comforter in it and it worked great. quiet and no shaking like my old dryer used to. i’m very pleased with the purchase and would recommend this dryer to others.

Had an older model from 8 years ago in my previous house. Haven't been able to use a ton yet because this went into new property. Machine runs quiet. The touch screens are a great upgrade to keep the machine looking sleek. Will be interested to test its capacity on queen size items, but all signs point to it being effective.
