Our LG tv doesn’t like any of these anymore (upgrades? All the players stopped working at the same time). So we bought this open-box LG Blu-ray player hoping that, in the rare occasion that we want to watch a dvd, it would be compatible with the LG tv. Again, we own a lot of DVD players that worked and suddenly don’t work so I wanted to spend minimal for another player This player is great! It’s a tiny little box that plugged and played, the picture is great…I’m really happy with it. No bells and whistles, just a simple DVD player that’s well worth buying.

It seems to work fine recording as you listen 1x speed. It does label everything Track001, Track 002, etc. which means after a few CDs I have to plug the usb drive into my computer to rename each song. Not a problem.

Tldr/ buy splitter since hdmi isnt compatible

LG DP132 dvd player
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this dvd player, my niece hooked it up, we tried it & it worked. A few weeks later it didn't. Best Buy wouldn't take it back because it was more than 15 days. I sent an email to LG for assistance. They asked if anything showed in the display window when I tried to turn it on. This cheap dvd player doesn't have a display window. It has a thin slot for the dvd, a button to open it, a button to turn it on and a port. I can't reply to the email so I would need to start all over again tomorrow. Just to leave this review I had to create an account. Best Buy can keep their money. LG can keep their money. As the password I had to create says: Iwillnevershopatbestbuyagain

Not Blu-ray

Don't need streaming and other fancy options. Figured the price was right. I figured everything played Blu-ray these days. I've had companies give them away as promotional gifts, so I know they can be cheap. Taking it back and continuing my search for a cheap Blu-ray.

CD player

I have to keep opening the door and close it again to try to get it to play the CD. I no longer have the box that it came in and I have no way of printing the receipt out to return this item. I went and bought me a new radio with a CD player on it so I may play my CD's while at my desk. Trish A. Gunsch

2 malfunctions

The images were distorted - elongated vertically on both DVDs used for testing. Then when after I closed the drawer it reopened by itself. This happened 4 times. Finally got it closed and exchanged it for a Sony DVP-SR210P. That's a low-end Sony with no Blu-ray. It's our second one. Works perfectly. FWIW, this LG felt and look badly-made and cheap. I wasn't surprised at all when it failed.

not a recorder

You can do direct recording from the CD player to the USB drive on the LG - DVD Player with USB Direct Recording - Black, Model # DP132. The recording format is MP3 Files and the Encoding Bit rates are: 128 Kbps / 160 Kbps / 192 Kbps / 256 Kbps / 320 Kbps. The recording feature cannot record live TV shows. ^CP

NO HDMI PORT

I even asked two sales reps and both said it has HDMI ports. I now get to waste more time today driving all the way back to Best Buy and returning the DVD unit.
