It's a really simple device. You just plug the network connections in and the power source and that's it. Linksys hasn't failed me yet when it comes to networks, and, with something this simple, it really shouldn't.

It helps split the internet connection via ethernet without having to unplugged a certain device to then plug in a different device because you don't have enough ports in your router.

Great speed for a great price

I was upgrading from 10/100 to this Gigabit connection, so I obviously got a huge increase in speed. I picked this one over other models because it was a study metal enclosure with mounting holes. I needed to replace my old unit mounted on the wall, and was surprised while shopping that this isn't included on every switch. It actually took some searching to find one with that simple feature.

Plug it in & it works

One of the major reasons I bought this switch was very simple, the ports are on the back, lights on the front. This helps to keep all of the cables out of sight & it is easy to monitor network activity.

Linksys Gigabit ethernet switch works great

This Linksys Gigabit switch is an excellent choice for that and has MUCH better performance than using a hub. Would buy again.
