A Very Good Networking Switch

Does differentiate gigabit and fast ethernet.

The activity lights do differentiate between fast ethernet and gigabit Ethernet at the port level. Green for gigabit and Amber for fast ethernet. Did discover a newer TV was only equiped with fast ethernet rather than gigabit.

SMALL BUT FUNCTIONAL

It solved a problem of two many cables/wires intersecting across the small living space I occupy. Now my Sony Bravia TV, Sony 4k Blu-ray player and HP laptop are all connected to the Linkys Ethernet switch without the mess. The advantage is that now I can do software upgrades for the TV and 4K player while increasing the Mbps rate for the laptop without any other connections or issues. I did not know that if you connect your laptop to the router with an Ethernet cable the download and upload speed increases.

Perfect solution
