My master bed room is probably 45 feet from my primary wifi router... Set this up half way. Still not full bars in many parts of the room. Sometimes netflix will still briefly stagger.... Fiber optic, shouldn't much. Just spend the extra money and buy a good one.

Adjusting the router's wireless settings will help improve its connection to the extender, thus, improving the extended signal. We suggest you try changing the wireless channel. Use channel 6, 9, 11, or 1 for the 2.4 GHz; 161 or 157 for the 5 GHz band.

As a person who is not a tech geek, reading online directions is useless to me when figuring out how to get online. Oh well

It seems to be doing what it's supposed to be doing. So far no issues and internet is now strong inside my office.

In order to optimize its capability, the range extender should be at least within the range of the wireless router, ideally, 20 to 25 feet (line-of-sight). You may also adjust the wireless channel of your router to 1, 6, or 11 to minimize wireless interference which may affect the connection stability between the router and the extender.

This has done the trick, improving issues with streaming and connectivity.

It would not connect to my wifi in any location in my house. It may have been the product, or my network. It is still worth trying. Specifically since Best Buy allows you to return the product.

The Linksys RE6500 should work fine with most of the routers. Thus, resetting the extender before setting it up may also help by pressing and holding the reset button for about 10 seconds. The perfect router

Our router is on the 2nd floor. We needed something to help further extend it through the house. This definitely did the trick. Great buy!

On the other hand, I was expecting better performance than it gave. I wound up returning it because it did not add much in the way of extending your network.
