A: If there is no current Wi-Fi, plug it in. If there is Wi-Fi but the signal is just weak in the basement, this unit will probably "see" the other Wi-Fi router's weak signal . If it does, you will have a strong Wi-Fi presence there from now on. If the Wi-Fi signal in the basement is too weak, try moving this device directly under your other router & elevate it near that other unit's location to improve the signal.
