I have it half way between the router and the dead spots. Works fine about halfway between the dead spots and the extender's position. If I move the extender closer to the dead spots, I get no connection at all fro.m the extender

Didn't improve reception much

The range extender works best when placed between where your main router is and where you want to extend the signal, since it does require a good signal from the main router. The system will not work with my Nest. I hope customer service can help resolve the issue. Product is ok but not very user friendly in setting it up.

If your Nest works fine straight to your main router, then it should do the same with your RE6500 Extender which acts as a repeater of your Wi-Fi network. Which is surprising from Linksys. I thought I would get a stronger signal from it but so far not impressed. I have had to reset it 3 times already, which I really should not have to do.
