Please make sure that the Linksys RE6500 is getting at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal and is located midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi. Choosing the right location would help you to maximize the coverage of the range extender. It is recommended that you plug in the range extender midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi. Also, make sure that you have at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal at that point on the device you used for setup.

The range extender requires at least 2-3 signal strength to get a stable connection from the router just like other wireless devices. The following steps may help you improve its connection to the network:
- Adjust the router's wireless channel.
- If the router has wireless antennas, point one of them to the direction of the range extender.
- Reposition the router if possible or the range extender.
