You can use the Linksys RE6500 WiFi extender to eliminate dead zones with an additional wireless coverage of up to 10,000 sq. ft. and will work with any wireless router, including modem routers. hard to figure out

Setting up the RE6500 Wireless Extender is supposed to be easy using the embedded Setup Wizard (browser-based setup) or using the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button if your wireless router or access point supports WPS. We could get a signal but it was not very strong

To fully maximize the potential of your RE6500 Extender, it is recommended to position it at least 50% from your router's Wi-Fi signal. You may take advantage of its Spot Finder Technology feature to guide you where to relocate the extender to boost the range of your garage area.
