Has helped but needed outside help to connect to my Netgear Frontier Communications router.

Easy to set up, only has one wire and it works well.

I have a workshop that is adjacent to my house. I wished to have internet access there in order to run a computer and other streaming media. I currently use a Linksys 2700 router as my primary router. After reading several reviews I chose the Ac1200 Dual-band Wi-fi Range Extender. The quick start instructions were too basic and were missing several steps required to marry your extender with your router. After going to several sites on line I was able to determine that I would need to do the following; connecting a Ethernet Cat5E cable to the computer and the extender, ensuring that the range extender was by a window for optimal reception, go to address "http://extender.linsys.com", select your router's wireless SSID, enter passwords for each band displayed, reboot the computer, and then go back to your primary router and accept the range extender as a device. Once all this was completed the extender ran great. In all the distance from the router in my house and the range extender is about 185 feet. It connects just fine and data streams just fine to my workshop's computer. I can recommend this extender with confidence. The only drawback is that some experienced IT documentation person wrote the instructions assuming that consumers are as equally experienced in guessing the missing steps. This forced me to go online and do some set up and installation research on my part. This is the only reason why this gets a 4 out of 5 stars.

This product says (the light will flash for 3-5 minutes then you can begin set up. On initial set up it flashed for 45 minutes (not exaggerating). After a recent power outage and it had to be power cycled to connect again, it took nearly 30 minutes to stop flashing. It must stop flashing before you can see it on the Linksys webpage to get it connected. Once connected it is very powerful. I have 968 mbps from my provider. This thing broadcasts that speed upstairs in my home at full capacity for 7 devices when all the family is home and upstairs.

Product works as advertised. Wifi extends well throughout the house in the areas I need.

Need to boost the wifi in the shop, because some electronics kept loosing signal and I had to keep restarting them to get the signal back. Bought this and put it in and haven't had to restart them once. Works great and don't have a bunch of cables running everywhere!

My office is on the complete opposite end of the house above the garage. I was unable to get a signal for work and this product was suggested. Not only did it immediately fix the issue after the simple set up, I have faster speeds than I do sitting next to the modem!

I like Linksys devices, and I have for a long time. This extender did the job it was supposed to do - bring the wi-fi signal to a "desolate" part of the home. I am still learning the limits of this thing, but so far, I have connected a smart TV and gaming console with ease. The setup was even easier. Only one issue: Sometimes I think it causes great interference and almost all hosts lose wireless connection in the house, regardless if they are connected to the main access point or the extended. Restarting the wi-fi extender helps. This is something I need to research, because I am not sure if it is the wireless extender or something else. I am certain that it is fixable. I am extending the Arris router signal that Time Warner (Spectrum) supplied to me. This issue did not exist before I hooked up this Linksys product.

I had reservations before purchasing, but this turned out to be a great buy. Granted, I have only been using it for a few days so I'm not sure about longevity. My home is 3,000 SQFT with the main router being downstairs and on the other side of the home from the extender. I placed it upstairs in a bonus room mainly for my Xbox. My latency went from 300+ before the extender being installed to the mid 20s and 30s on BF1. Install took about 10 minutes and the extender is a great size. I look forward to using it more and am curious about the longevity .

I got everything set up ok the first day then the second day I got a limited notification on my WIFI connection for my lap top. Not knowing what to do I called Geek Squad for help. They told me to reset my router. Everything started working much better. I still have to reset my router from time to time for everything to work right. But I believe the range extender is doing it's job.

At first it's tricky to install, but once you get it installed, it works great!
