||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent hours with Belkin Technical support trying to get this Linksys product to function with my AT&T Uverse Router (a 2Wire). Ultimately, this effort failed. I returned the product for replacement, but was obligated to spend $14+ at UPS, and have my credit card put on hold for $110.00 while my shipment was enroute to Linksys Returns. I have not received the replacement yet (three days), I am completely turned off from all future Belkin/Cicso/Linksys product purchases. Is there a way to give this product a zero stars rating? They do have five star technical support, and I have dealt with a knowledgeable and very patient technical representative.

It is recommended to ensure that your range extender is getting at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal and is located midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi. You can try setting a fixed wireless channel for your network to improve its performance. internet repeater is good

* Place it in an area where there is still a good connection from the router.
* Use a handheld device (phone or tablet) to check for your router's signal strength. Once you can find a place where there is still 2-3 signal bars, then that's the perfect location for your extender.
* Set your router to use a specific wireless channel such as 1, 6, or 11.
* Update or re-flash the firmware.

I purchased this to solve the problem. I placed it on top of my kitchen cabinet next to the deck. I now have reception half way across a 20x20 deck, but no farther.
