To achieve the extender's maximum performance, make sure it is getting at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal or is located midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi. Raising it above floor level can also improve the strength of the wireless signal. Adding the range extender to your network is a good idea to strengthen your connection throughout your home. However, the interrupted streaming through Netflix is possibly affected by the speed requirement of the app or with interferences. The range extender should be able to extend the signal farther than that. To optimize its performance, relocating it could help and make use of the spot finder feature to help you identify the best location. Two issues you would have to tell your phone each time to chose the extender... And for your wifi security not very good. we returned.. .. Just didn’t do what we needed.

Bought it because he is in the farthest point from our router. Have moved it 3 times. Have an ethernet cable to it now. Seems okay. Just didn’t do much better then without it.

Obstructions are one of the main cause of the dropping connection. Moving the extender may help, and we recommend you to place the Linksys RE6500 midway between the router and the area without Wi-Fi. Make sure that the extender will get 50% of the connection from the router. Awful
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product did not work at all. I have been working with computers for over 30 years and this is one of the worst products I have seen. I followed the directions and it would not hook up. I spent 4 hours trying to get it to reboot into factory mode, when it did it would not let me back in. The last straw was it needed a password and I never got to a place to put one in. Really bad software. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this.
