The distance of the RE6500 range extender from the router could cause some issues to the extender as it might be too far from the source. Try to relocate the extender closer to the router for isolation and, make sure that its firmware is up to date. Didn't work for us.

Tried this in the office where we needed it. It didn't work. Moved this to a different location in the same room. It didn't work. Moved this to a place that had line of sight to our router- still didn't work. It was quickly returned.

Can not find extender wifi

I couldn't find its wifi signal even my computer is just 3 feet away. Tried to reboot, reconnect, set it to factory default, I even tried to use other device to find the wifi signal, all failed. I have to return this extender.

I think it's supposed to show a steady white light, but most often the light blinks red or is a steady red. Neither our computers nor our TVs see this extender. I've moved it all around my house, with the same effect. I guess it's defective.

The RE6500 extender is designed to extend your coverage, it just needs to be placed properly as well as run with the correct settings. It also features a spot finder technology which will help you find the right location. As for the speed, it will still depend on how much it gets from the router.

Not worth the money

My house is approximately 2200. I placed the router midway and it doesn't work properly. It doesn't hold a signal. I constantly have to reconnect, reboot, or turn the thing off and on for it to produce a Wi-Fi signal.

Exactly What I Needed - Works Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We have a large home (5000 sq ft) and I'm running the WRT1900AC downstairs and the RE6500 upstairs. There is not a dead spot in the house any longer. I have Comcast 100/20 internet and I can easily pull 80/20 in any room of the house over wifi now. The only issue I did seem to encounter was trying to extend both the 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands at the same time. When I did that, I would notice my speed would drop to about 10-25 downstream randomly, even when the device I was using was only connected to the 5 Ghz band. After I reset the RE6500 and only extended the 5 Ghz band, I haven't had that issue again, runs like a champ now. That is the only thing keeping this from a 5 star review, as the kids still do have 2.4 ghz devices so it would have been nice to extend both 2.4 and 5 ghz bands all the time, but with the WRT1900AC, those devices still get plenty of juice!!!
