    Barely works with Linksys WRT1900AC

    We've got a 900 square foot office. There are some obstructions, but connectivity on both bands is intermittent and completely unreliable. In fact, it makes the signal WORSE. This is a $100 paper weight. It must work for some people! For us, it's unplugged and sitting in a box.

    No better than the $30 AC750 TP-Link. HOWEVER due to my mad DIY skillz I was able to boost performance with an aftermarket antenna. So really I paid more than twice as much in order to use my own antenna. If I wasnt desperate I'd send it back. ALSO the included directions had nothing to do with setting this thing up. Initial setup results in a FLASHING RED LIGHT and you must connect from there. Ive wasted too much time on this thing already so see ya.

    Does the job.

    We were able to extend the wifi in the house using this. The cable box is on the other end of the house while my room is on the opposite end about 60 ft apart. Wasn't able to connect to the wifi from my room prior to purchasing.

    A little bit hard to set up, but Linksys Support was great and got me up and running. I use the extender with Uverse WiFi, and it helps a lot.

    After reading the positive reviews I decided to buy this extender to improve wifi strength in remote areas of my house. After spending an hour and trying all different things I could not get the extender to connect. Spent almost two hours on the phone with Linksys technical support. No success. They told me that I would have to call AT&T and change the channel number on my AT&T router and call them back. I found out how to change the channel and called back. Spent another hour on the phone with another technician only to be told that they know they have a defect they need to address and that a higher level customer service expert would call me back with a fix. Almost 24 hours later I have not heard back from Linksys. I am returning the unit back to Best Buy with disappointment.

    I was very disappointed for the price paid. It did not extend as far as I had expected and did have dead zones where it would not connect to laptops or tablets.

However, wireless interference could also cause for the connection to drop. Changing the wireless channel on your router will help stabilize the unit’s wireless performance.

    Installed it per the instructions. Didn't boost the signal at all PL:US it affected my computer and blocked me from using the computer (hard wired computer). I have to pull the plug on the extender to get my computer to work. Don't waste your money

    Poor instructions and support

    Support charges $30 out of service period. Setup instructions difficult to navigate after a router upgrade. Asked to speak to a manager at tech support and was told none available. Just bought another $130 Linksys router that I was trying to connect to; so I don't think support to connect to that is unreasonable.

    Buyer Beware

    I should have read the reviews before purchasing. BB Associate recommended this unit. Not Impressed!!! Installed easily enough, however kept dropping signal and could not get devices to stay connected. Returned it and went with Belkin unit. Much better and better price too!!

    Poor range, drops video

    This range extender did not work for me. I followed the instructions carefully, making sure I placed the router within the area the Linksys placement tool recommended. I then ran several tests. 1) I sat about 50' away, on the same floor, with the only door open. The signal strength was roughly equivalent to the router, which was another floor above, behind a closed door, and an additional 30' away. At this point, both devices measured between 50 and 60% signal strength. 2) I moved to about 30' away and in the same room. This time the signal strength was stronger than the (much farther away) router, but only by about 5%. Attempting to play Netflix from this distance dropped off completely after about 30 seconds. 3) I moved to within 1' of the extender. Same results as 2). 4) I returned the device and bought something else.

      The wireless range issue that you have experienced is not what we expected. Interferences in your area could compromise the quality of your wireless connection. Changing the wireless channel would help improve the unit’s performance.

      Moreover, upgrading the range extender’s firmware could help resolve the issue that you have with the Netflix. Our Engineering team was aware of this case and they were able to address this case with the new firmware.

    Worst extender ever

    I bought this with high hopes and to replace my old wifi extender. First day I set this extender up I was very excited as my wifi speed went up to about 140mbps download and thought this item was great. Then after the first day it would constantly lose connection and I would have to restart it. I would also lag during every multiplayer game I would play thanks to this extender. Never had any problems like that with my old extender so now back to the old slower extender. At least the other was reliable. This item made me rethink my opinion on Linksys products entirely. Such a shame.

    Not Very Happy with the product!!!!!!

    I have been using the extender for a year it suddenly keeps goes off and on it was a pain Most of the time so I have to manually reset it ....and it keep getting worst. I would make sure to look around for different product

    Didn't solve need for wired internet for Tivo mini

    After purchasing a Tivo mini to give access to my Tivo Bolt, I needed a way to have wired internet access in a 2nd room of my 2,500 square foot home. This was the 2nd product that I bought based on recommendations from BestBuy employees. First one was a Netgear power line extender that suffered from numerous tv signal disruptions. This wireless extender suffered from the same problem. Now off to search for a 3rd possible solution. I'm now thinking about upgrading my wifi router to a dual band one but not sure which spec will maximize the possibility of it solving the problem. No, I don't have MOCA.

    Bestbuy kid recommended this. Shoulda went with my original researched product because this did nothing but lag and drag wifi down to point where everything else attached was slow.
