    It's not very good

Setup was suppose to be simple but it was a pain. It constantly loses Internet connection. If you check the box for cloning the SSID settings then it makes it even worse.

      Hi, ehhhh,

The setup process should always be simple and painless using the embedded Setup Wizard or using the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button if your wireless router or access point supports WPS. If you haven't successfully installed the unit yet, one of our Escalation Engineers will contact you and walk you through the process. We can be reached at [email protected], anytime.

    Needs to be rebooted daily

I bought this to add wireless capability to my Denon receiver, which supports AirPlay but has only a wired connection, so I could stream music from my PC in the other room. It worked fine for the first week. But then it stopped working. Now it stops working almost every day and needs to be rebooted (unplugged for a minute). I've downloaded the latest firmware 1.0.06.011 and I still have the same problem. And now it's been more than 15 days, and I can't even return this piece of garbage.

      Hi Crossbow,

The extender should not require frequent reboots. It’s best that you restore it to factory default settings after doing a firmware update. If the connection will not improve, please send us an email at [email protected] so we can forward your case to our Escalation Engineers. Include your contact info, location, title and the link to this post.

    Packet storm

This product works great until it has been in service for a couple of hours. Then it starts a packet storm with my AP to the point where bandwidth to the internet is only about 3 Mbps. I have to unplug the AC1200/RE6500 and let it set for a few minutes and then plug it back in. It is such a pain especially since the AC1200 is in the basement connected to my server.

      Hi Bill,

There might be wireless interference that is causing the bandwidth to drop. You can try to relocate the extender using the spot finder feature to help locate the best placement for the device and, try to update the firmware of the device.

For further assistance, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] with your contact details and the link to this review and, we'll have our Escalation Engineers look into this.

Just bought this yesterday. Had high hopes but after multiple resets, visits to the linksys support pages, etc. still no connection. The access point can't be configured whether across wifi, ethernet or WPS. Save yourself from my aggrivation, buy a different product. this one sucks!

This one failed too. The LED light never stopped blinking. Even within 6 feet of my router. Maybe, I'll try another brand like NETGEAR

If you change modems it won't work. Called support and they wanted $26 to connect it to my new modem. I had it for 3 months 2 weeks. Support lady told me my warranty was good for only 3 months.
