Installation was rather easy and did perform the extra steps to update the firmware and check everything out to make sure setup was correct. No problems. However, I haven't really noticed any improvement in speed with any of the devices that are working through the Range Extender. I also ran a speedtest comparing going through the router versus going through the range extender and found the speed was virtually identical. I also did use the provided tool to make sure the placement of the extender was in an optimal location. So in summary, it works, no problems, but no speed enhancement realized (which was the main reason for the purchase). I do plan on calling Linksys support to see if there's anything else I can do to improve the speed.

Great purchase! Would definately buy again. It really helped with my phone service. My bars increased and it also helped my computer faster...I would recommend to any one that has satellite service and needed that extra help!

I’ve got kind of a sprawling ranch-style house and had an older Netgear 802.11n wireless extender that never work very well. It maxed out at about 8Gbits download speed in the back bedroom it was meant to service, but it often dipped in to unusable territory, causing massive buffering issues and long loading times on the AppleTV in that room. Finally decided to replace it with this AC1200 model from Linksys and the performance difference is amazing. I was able to setup the extender right next to the television and connect the AppleTV to it via Ethernet cable and the connection now fully saturates the 80Gbit connection I pay for from my ISP. It performs exactly as if it were hardwired directly to the main router in my home office serveral rooms away. WI-FI speeds in the bedroom over the 5GHz network are 70+ Gbits, as well. I’ve had terrible experiences with extenders in the past and was fully prepared to return this one if I wasn’t satisfied, but I couldn’t be happier with the performance. I finally don’t have to worry about the sketchy internet in that part of the house!

I trayed other brand before but never works as this device.-

Bought extender to help with Verizon Fios in our home. Have Verizon wireless router in bedroom on second floor and extender in center hall on first floor. We have better coverage than before but still quirky and we need to switch wifi on phone when going between floors.

Easy setup needed two attempts though to connect to router

This is my second unit. The 1st brand failed to solve a weak Wi-Fi connection, created some set-up technical confusion on my part. This device was almost Plug & Play. Very easy set-up and instant solution to my weak Wi-Fi.

We purchased this range extender when we moved into a new house and noticed some bad spots. It has helped get a stronger signal in most areas, but we still have some troublesome spots. We've also experienced some issues with it going out from time to time.
