Had to finally connect to router with the push to connect option. Not sure if it every did connect right, but seems to be working so far. Do like the size of unit and does have a good range seems like. Will see how it goes.

As a matter of fact, this one!!! If we are not at home, there is no way to reset the extender remotely and hence whatever security system is connected to the extender becomes useless and unresponsive

The location where the RE6500 Extender is plugged would impact its overall performance. It is recommended that the Extender is located midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi, or better yet, reset the unit and take advantage of its Spot Finder Technology Feature to help you find the best location for an optimal range.
