In fact, even when connected to our existing Wi-Fi, we'd have issues with dropping calls from one room to the next. After plugging in the extender we now have great Wi-Fi reception throughout our home - to include coverage in both our basement and attached garage.

Before I was having a hard time connecting or keeping connection in the room. Now I have no problem.

It's good to know that the range extender was able to improve your network's signal. However, in order for you to maximize the Wireless-AC speed of your RE6500, your router must also have the same Wireless-AC capability.
