Put it in my bedroom and directed wire to Ethernet cable I installed in the basement. Full Wi-Fi now in the basement. Easy set up. Took me more time getting it out of the box and plugged in compared to set up.

I kept getting disconnection errors and lagging while watching shows and using the wifi for other things like connecting it to my laptop. This range extender eliminates that issue and was worth the money.

Other than that, I got great coverage outside around the pool which is where I wanted it. After a couple of days, I noticed my internet connection kept breaking. When I unplugged the Linksys, the problem went away. Plugged it back up and the same thing happened over and over. So it now sits unplugged.

We are sorry to hear about your experience with the Linksys RE6500. The intermittent wireless connection could be due to wireless interference. We advise that you adjust the router and the extender's wireless settings to improve the connection. Use fixed channels instead of Auto. Also, try to minimize physical obstruction and place the extender midway between the router and the remote wireless devices so that the extender will get at least 50% of the router's wireless signal.

Distance from the router and signal obstructions could cause the RE6500 to lose its connection from the router. To isolate, try to relocate the range extender and avoid placing the device near other electronics that may cause signal interference.
