I've tried so many methods and ways to extend range (dont get me wrong, it will do it) however, using software and tools watching how -dB drop between walls, etc, extender works only well in open spaces. Do consider whole home wifi coverage such as Google wifi, Luma, or Orbi, they might do a better job with coverage.

Physical obstructions and interferences could have affected the range extender's performance. It is recommended to place the unit midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi. Also, be sure you have at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal at that point on the device you used for setup.

We appreciate the time you spent in sharing your experience with us. How far is your extender from the wireless router? Here are the possible solutions that you can do:
* Place it in an area where there is still a good connection from the router.
* Use a handheld device (phone or tablet) to check for your router's signal strength. Once you can find a place where there is still 2-3 bars signal, then that's the perfect location for your extender.
* Manually update or re-flash its firmware.
* Restore the extender to factory default settings.
