I immediately put DD-WRT on the router with minimal fuss after connecting it. So far, it has performed well. It did require a power cycle once to reactivate the 5 GHz radio but that may have been because I didn't have any clients connecting to that SSID for a while. In short, if you want a router you can customize with enterprise features, this is a good bet. If you just want a router you don't want to tinker with, I'd look at other models.

It's nice but over priced. I get more consistent speed, but my older router gave me more distance.

Got this router to increase the range of our wifi network as we now stream our TV services and needed a better router to reach other rooms in the house. Got it on sale for 162 dollars and have been nothing but impressed with it. One thing to note however is that sometimes (only twice or so in about 4 months of use) the wifi bands (2.4 and 5.8) will turn off. Simply unplug it for a few minutes and plug it back in to fix this.

My son received a new gaming computer for Christmas and needed to pick up faster Wi-Fi in his upstairs bedroom. I bought this to replace another Linksys that was only 2 years old. I was hoping for much better range, but it still struggled to get to all corners of the house. We ended up calling our internet provider and having them install a connection in a more central location of our home. Also, it seemed simple to install ourselves at first, but when the internet provider came, they informed us that it wasn't even enabled properly.

I have a home that is awkward in that there are brick walls which prevent a good signal I had to hard wire the home theater because there are two brick walls that the signal has to pass through and we had no signal at all we now get a signal but still have some dead spots in there we will have to relocate the router and I am sure the issue will be resolved this is the second router from the same company reliable product

Replaced an older n router with this ac router and it's been great do far. Highly recommend.

Performs the desired task as a router plus VPN host and seems to have good range for wifi

Seems to suddenly freeze up or unable to gain website access randomly. May need to exchange after several attempts to correct the problem. Believe it may be a defective router.

This is one of the most premium routers I used in recent times. The hardware looks absolutely solid & premium. The casing is very strong & looks really nice. The setup was such a breeze. The router has all necessary options/ settings & works great. I tried both the bands (2.4 & 5 GHz). They worked great & had great coverage throughout my 2 story 3,000 square foot home. There was not even a single dead-spot. 2.4 GHz had a better range than 5 GHz. The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi admin page is pretty nice & very user friendly. The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi mobile app works really great too. One thing I especially like about the mobile app is the ability to connect to the devices using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) using the app (without needing to go to the actual router to press the WPS button). The quick start guide is also pretty nice & overs important features. Enabled the Guest network on both bands. They too work great. One thing I like about the Guest network is that it redirects the guests to a web page where they need to enter the guest password. That looks more professional. Also connected my PC & several other devices like Roku & Xbox through both wireless & Ethernet. They all work great & the speed in simply unbelievable. I strongly recommend this router for the best possible coverage ultimate network connectivity. With regards, Jein.

Super simple router to setup and use, improved wireless distances, and it just works!

I had my previous router for 6 or 7 years so it was really dated. My wi-fi signal was so weak and wasnt really compatible with the newest technology. I read reviews on this router and everyone is right this is a great router. I like the dual band technology. It really helps to have 5gz b/c when I stream from my phone it does so on that band w/o any buffering and at a fast rate.

I love the router as it is fast and very reliable. The only thing I would improve is the software. It is very user friendly for those with limited knowledge, but I would have preferred a more robust software for my knowledge level, or at least an option for an advanced version. I know I can install aftermarket software, but I'd like to have more functionality with stock software.

Good signal strength. I was able to eliminate a range extender that was previously required for an earlier version of this router. This router dumped all programming the 3rd day of use and I thought I was going to have to return it. I was able to reset the unit and reprogram it and it has been good since

After purchasing two prior to this one, we finally found one that works very well. I would highly recommend it. It boosts our wireless all over the house!

This wasn't the original router I planned on buying but for the price this one did what I needed it to do for a lot less than the one I originally wanted

I purchased this item from Best Buy , I highly recommend this Item . This is the fastest router I ever used , My Wifi Speed leaped from 2 MB to 30 MB , and all my wifi equipments are working very well without buffering . Excellent customer support .

Very easy setup. I like that I have multiple ports and the range is good.
