Hi, Rling,
Your feedback is of great value, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention so we can help. We would like to take this opportunity to make sure that the router is working great. To achieve maximum performance, we need to check your current network environment to ensure that your Linksys Wireless AC Dual Band router will properly sync to your networking devices. For a much stable connection and wider wireless coverage, we need to check the firmware if it's updated and we'll modify the channels for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. We suggest to try channels 1, 6 and 11 for the 2.4 GHz wireless network, and channels 36, 40, 44 and 48 for the 5 GHz. Should you need further assistance, get in touch with us at [email protected] along with your contact details and the link to this post for reference. We would be more than willing to help.
Your satisfaction is our utmost priority.
Regards,

Meets our streaming needs. Over 10 devices connected...haven't had any issues. Coverage seems pretty wide and consistent when streaming video on multiple devices. Not utilizing any advanced features at this point, but the user interface is friendly. Prioritization and parental features will be useful in the future.

I received this product for free as part of Belkin's Friends + Family Program
Out of the box, easy to set up and get going. From start to finish, I had it up and running with initial configuration within 5 minutes. Nice, easy to use interface for beginners, but also more advanced options for advanced users.
Pros:
* Fast and covers my multi-story house without any issue. Had a 1750 TP Link previously, which gave me issues in several parts of the house.
* 4 Antennas to help with coverage
* Guest network
* Able to flash with DD-WRT
* Quick setup
* Advanced options
* Reliable - No need to reset in 4 weeks, unlike previous routers i've used
Cons:
* Not a big downside, but one nonetheless: If you port forward Port 80 for any reason, you lose the ability to log in remotely to manage the device. Hopefully they resolve this in the future, otherwise, it's easy enough to set cameras and such to non standard ports.
All in all, I highly recommend this router as a higher end option or as an option for people with larger homes. It works great and is highly reliable.

Router is at far end of 4500 Sq ft home and we wanted full house capability. The home is old without drop ceiling or attic, so option of moving router to central location was not feasible. Excellent coverage throughout to include outside by pool, well over 150 feet away.

The router performs well usually. The spontaneous reboot problem from the previous version still exist. I don't understand why Linksys can't create a patch for this issue. Also the online service to manage the router should not store account passwords in an un-encrypted format.

Easy to set up but disappointed in range. I bought it to increase the distance our wireless would reach. I can't tell any difference in our $79 Linksys and this one. I love Linksys but would stick with the less expensive.

Hi SueB,
The time you've spent in writing this review is greatly appreciated. We're grateful to hear that you like our products and you find the setup process easier. However, we would like to closely monitor the challenge that you're experiencing with its range. Try changing the wireless channel of your router to 1, 6 or 11 for 2.4 GHz and for 5 GHz change it to 36,40, 44 or 48. You may refer to this link for the process: http://www.linksys.com/ca/support-article?articleNum=143717. If you encounter the same setback, you may send us an email at [email protected] along with your contact details and the link to this review for our reference.
We look forward to helping you out.

I replaced an older Linksys router due to age and lack of performance. This one exceeded my expectations in performance on both 2.4 and 5G bands. I do wish the QoS settings were a little more granular but this is consumer grade vs. enterprise grade so it's expected.

I was really excited to get this router after aome of the reviews ive seen and where it is very fast the range doesnt seem all that great iy's no better than the 3 year ols netgear i replaced with this. The streaming is very good if youre within range ive tried all the sifferent channels ive seen linksys recommend and just cant get great range out of it eapecially the 5g band its especially limited. Very happy with the spees just wosh it had more range my home isnt very large and it will not reach the entire house if i get more than a room away the aignal is not good at all

Hi, Tbrown,
The primary differences between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless frequencies are range and bandwidth. 5GHz provides faster data rate at a shorter distance, whereas the 2.4 GHz offers coverage for farther distances, but may perform at slower speeds. Please reach out to us so we can optimize your router's settings to achieve maximum wireless coverage. Send us an email at [email protected] along with your contact details, the review title and the link to this post for reference.
We'd be more than happy to sort this out for you.

This router is very simple to install. I do however get random messages that I have a weak connection when I play online games but that is only for a couple of seconds. I've had it for a couple of months and never had to reboot it and happy with its performance.
