I like the Linksys -AC2200 tri band mesh Wi- fi 5.

Really does seem to work better then my wifi that came with my fios.

Fast speeds but short signal strength. Parental controls aren't that great

Doesn't work. Won't even set up at all (app gives you some nonsense about not connecting to cloud, which you need to in order to set up your account. Why you need an account or app for a local router is beyond me) The support phone # listed in the box is for a nonexistent line (you hear nothing at all). The actual # listed on their site has you jump thru some phone trees before giving you the same silence. Their online support is even worse - they make you type in a bunch of info and description of your problem, only to inform you after clicking submit that it didn't go thru, and you have to try again. Which of course it won't let you. Finally, they list their Twitter as a support option, which hadn't been updated since April To sum up: doesn't work, and they don't care

The Linksys - MR8300 Max Stream™ AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi Router was very simple to set up using the Linksys app on my iPhone. Only hiccup was getting on the router wifi for initial setup since the printed instructions did not include the fact that you needed to use the password on the router at first. Having set up many routers over the years, I quickly figured that out. But instructions should have made it clear for those less experienced. I set mine up with an extender node to reach my garage. Not sure I needed the extender after all since the signal seemed the same with or without it. This router easily covers our entire, moderate-sized home and garage. If you haven't used MU-MIMO technology before, you will see a marked improvement in wifi performance and speed with multiple devices in use. Since my previous unit already had that tech, I didn't see a marked improvement in speed. But this single router matched the coverage of the 3-node (Dual-Band) unit it replaced. Overall, it is a solid, modern router with strong performance. Although not cheap, it is much less expensive than this tech was just 2 years ago. My only disappointment is not with the router itself, but the fact that the Parental Controls will not filter out sites by category unless you have a subscription. However, searching on both the App and the Linksys help site produced no information on what 'subscription' was needed. In fact, no reference to subscriptions at all. On the other hand, the ability to pause internet on individual devices is nice. If parental controls are important for your use, I recommend getting an answer to the 'subscription' issue. Otherwise, this is a solid product for a reasonable price
