NOT user friendly. EVERYTHING must be changed including passwords. You won't know this in advance. If new to the LiNKSYS system set up would be effortless.

Moreover, upgrading to new Mesh device from a Linksys Smart router would require us to configure a new Wi-Fi settings due to their hardware limitations. Also, as long as the system requirements are met, setting up our Mesh routers/nodes should be a breeze.

Much needed upgrade
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this LINKSYS MR8300 tri-band router in hopes of improving our home wi-fi. Our old router worked o.k. before as we had less devices using it, but as kids got older and more devices added it seem to be the first piece to upgrade. The MR8300 looked like what we needed with the tri-band setup and better antenna setup. Installation was the easiest wi-fi router setup I have ever done! Plug it in, download the LINKSYS app to your phone/tablet and complete the setup steps. It took less than 10 minutes to setup the router and the VELOP wi-fi extender. The MR8300 with theVELOP greatly improved our wi-fi coverage in an older house with lots of walls and surprisingly improved our usage with our ISP which is pretty slow. With any where from 6-10 devices connected at a time we have less connection issues then we had with the old router but now can see that our ISP is NOT as good as they say they are! The LINKSYS app gives you good parental controls and the abiity to set device prioitization as well as see who is connected to your wi-fi. I wish we had a better ISP so I could really see what the MR8300 is capable of? But as is we have had 2 devices streaming Netflix, 2 playing mobile games and 1 on YouTube with vey little to no buffering which is a nice improvement over our old wi-fi router.
