However we have to reset it pretty often (1 - 2 times per week) whereas the nighthawk wireless router may only need resetting leas than once a year. I would keep looking for a better extender.

The RE6300 extender shouldn’t have to be reset that often as long as the settings are optimized and that it’s running on the latest firmware.
