However we have to reset it pretty often (1 - 2 times per week) whereas the nighthawk wireless router may only need resetting leas than once a year. I would keep looking for a better extender.

The RE6300 extender shouldn’t have to be reset that often as long as the settings are optimized and that it’s running on the latest firmware. Range Terrible

More like 30 max then really drops off. High ping slow speeds. Good if you want your kids to shut up about having weak signal in their rooms on other side of house. Now they have full strength at slow speeds.

The range extender is dependent on where it is connected to. Aside from checking the stability of the connection from the source, make sure that it is getting at least half of the bandwidth and that it is running on the latest firmware as well.
