New to using an extender
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setting up the extender was a breeze but for me I struggled finding the right place to keep a strong single without dropping. ISP says it’s the router/extended not he service...blah blah blah. I am pretty sure my experience is user error.

Posted .Hello, Chelly,
We're glad that you have chosen a Linksys unit as an addition to your network. If a reboot to your modem and router does not fix the error message, then ensure that the RE6300's firmware is updated. Email us the results at [email protected] so that our Escalation Engineers can look into this matter more closely. Once you email, please include your contact details and the link to this post for our reference.
We look forward to hearing more from you.

Did help extend signal, but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this on a best buy deal of the day. We have a wider over taller house so signal strength gets weaker the farther you get away from the router. This add on did definitely help boost the signal to the entire week spot side of my house. After having it for awhile, it is still doing its job but my indicator light is always orange even though I double check to confirm I am connected to the extender. I periodically move it around along the edge of the dead zone area, I might get the light to stay green for a couple days then it goes back to orange. Again, all devices are successfully connected to wifi on the extender but the actual extender indicator button is showing me its not getting a proper signal from the main router (according to the color diagram in the directions). Decent extender at a sale price.

Good but sometimes loses connection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used in a finished basement, one floor below main wireless router. Was easy to set up. Works fine 98% of the time but occasionally drops connection, which in all fairness could be a problem with base wireless set rather than the extender.

Wish it didn't create its own SSID
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this mostly to connect a non-wireless printer to. It works great for that purpose. The setup was fairly easy and quick. The one thing I didn't like was that it created a seperate SSID with an EXT suffix rather than extend the existing SSID.

Posted .Hi,
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we're glad to hear that the device works great with your non-wireless printer, and you found the installation fairly easy and quick. We'll take note of your feedback about the created SSID with an EXT suffix and we'll share it with the team. As a product overview, you can also rename the network if you want. Just access the setup page to create changes on the wireless settings and you can give a unique name for the extended network. Should you have queries, or should you need assistance in the future, get in touch with us via email at [email protected] along with your contact details and the link to this post for reference. We would be more than willing to help.

Works OK
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to extend the range of my WiFi to a newly installed tankless water heater mounted on the outside of my house. This extender provided the extra distance that I needed. My only criticism is that it is warning that it is not receiving a strong enough signal from my mian access point (its indicator is yellow, not green) but I believe is is strong enough in that location. I only needed to extend the 2.4 GHz signal and I am sure that it is the 5 GHz signal that it is complaining about. Nevertheless, it has been in use for about 3 weeks and has provided a strong enough signal outside to meet my needs.

Good little extender
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can be a bit tricky to set up if you need to use the web setup. The automatic setup was a piece of cake, but I like to see how things work in the background. The extended WiFi works great for the roku in the garage.

Works, does not appear to inhibit speed
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seems to work fine. The first location I placed it, the app said I had lots of signal, but in fact it cut out and was unreliable. I re-positioned it and have had more success, but the new location doesn't extend as far as it's closer to my source modem. Clearly this would work perfectly reliably if I could CAT-6 connect it (that's an option), but if I could do that I wouldn't need it! For those who don't want to use WPS, it can be connected from the internet without forcing you to turn on WPS on your source modem.

Good for the price, and gets the job done
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to help extend the range of our wifi so my daughter could do her school work in her room. It works fairly well, but speed was not near what it was connected directly to the wifi router. Another drawback, and I don't think it is the fault of Linksys, but the network name for the extender is WIFINAME EXT, where WIFINAME is the name of your network. I have to manually switch networks as I go to different areas of the house. I know there are mesh wifi systems out there that would negate that, but I didn't have the money to spend on something like that at the time.
