My son and I had a trouble setting this range extender up. We called their customer service, who answered pretty quickly. The customer service representative was knowledgeable about the product and patiently stepped us through a manual setup process. He was very helpful and considerate. Once it was setup it works great! I can easily stream video content in my living room.

I bought it to boost the signal of an old, single band 2.4GHz router (a D-Link DIR-655 to be exact) for a 1-bedroom apt., and it just didn't perform as I expected it to. First, it wasn't easy to setup/configure, but I'll chalk that up to me not seeing the WPS button on the side. Perhaps if I had, it wouldn't have required me doing it manually, but I didn't and it did, and it wasn't quick/easy to do. The signal was weak also; but I suppose for 750Mbs I shouldn't have expected what I was expecting. My Netgear AC1200 wifi-extender had me spoiled thinking I could just buy another one and it would work as well as my NG does, but this one definitely doesn't measure up to my NetGear device. I ended up having to purchase a new router to replace the D-Link (which I was trying to re-purpose, but didn't realize it was a single-band 2.4GHz router, and I needed a dual-band 2.4/5GHz router), and the router I bought made this wifi-extender unnecessary, so I took it back and got a refund. Unless you have a small (very small) apt. or a single room, I don't recommend buying this extender; even if you do have one of those, I urge you to research others before you spend your $$ on this one...

The Linksys RE6300 supports data rate of 300 Mbps (2.4 GHz), and 433 Mbps (5 GHz). Thus, when setting up the unit, we must make sure that it gets enough connection from the router, your Wi-Fi name (SSID) and Wi-Fi password / security key is ready, and the Linksys RE6300 should be plugged into a power outlet. Wait until the light is blinking orange before starting the setup process. Once the LED is on setup status, you may then access the "http://extender.linksys.com" or "192.168.1.1" in the Address bar using a web browser and follow the on-screen instruction. I moved the ext to multiple outlets closer to the modem and noticed no change when I didn’t have this. I am calling my provider trying to see if they offer a better solution than this. I would not buy again.

It improves my reception when my electronics are far from the WiFi router. Glad I purchased this item. My tv works better. Less times of freezing up. Easy to install. Keeps install info even when you unplug the unit. Fits reasonably flush against wall. Looks nice and doesn’t get in the way. I recommend it if your WiFi reception is poor.
