Did you use the Spot Finder technology during the setup? It is possible that the extender is not properly located which is why it didn’t extend the coverage. Make sure as well that it is running on the latest firmware for optimum performance.
Also, power interruption shouldn’t reset the device and it shouldn’t require any reconfiguration anymore. Still poor connection certain parts of my house. Dare not try the backyard. Have to connect to the ext when moving place to place which can be a hassle. Recently had WiFi issues resolved when unplugging extender.

A Little to setup but works good now.
