However, I experience slow speeds in the dead zone areas of my home. Sometimes when I’m on the internet, I just receive the spinning circle. My coworker suggested to buy a new router as well to help with the speed issue. Haven’t purchased the router yet, I just deal with the circling.

There are several factors that could affect the speed of the range extender, especially on the dead zones. Aside from the speed coming from the router, wireless interference, distance, and physical obstructions are a few of them as well. It was just as bad with the extender, no matter where I placed it. Then I tried Power Over Ethernet (POE) and it was a remarkable improvement. I recommend POE over extenders.

Regardless of proximity to my router, it fails to relay the signal more often than not. Furthermore, the actual wifi is stronger than my router and there is no handoff, so my devices are stuck to this repeater wherever I am in the house. I wanted to return it, but missed my window because Best Buy's return policy is garbage. If it weren't for a gift card, I probably wouldn't have purchased from Best Buy and would have gone to Amazon instead where I can return.
