It was seemingly easy to set up . However it would not extend range to the opposite side of the home even though I tried several different locations.

The location where you placed the RE6300 Extender will impact its overall performance. Thick walls, metal objects, appliances, and mirrors will also create signal interferences that will affect your Wi-Fi range. We recommend taking advantage of your Extender's Spot Finder Technology feature to guide you where to relocate the unit for an optimal range.
