It was seemingly easy to set up . However it would not extend range to the opposite side of the home even though I tried several different locations.

The location where you placed the RE6300 Extender will impact its overall performance. Thick walls, metal objects, appliances, and mirrors will also create signal interferences that will affect your Wi-Fi range. We recommend taking advantage of your Extender's Spot Finder Technology feature to guide you where to relocate the unit for an optimal range. It works very well. I had trouble with poor signal in my master bedroom which is towards the back of the house, main router is on the other end of house, up stairs in the game room. I placed the extender in the hallway in between router and bedroom. I now have full connectivity for my TV, blue ray and chrome cast.

The Linksys RE6300 WiFi Extender should be able to deliver up to 6,500 sq. ft. WiFi coverage. You can try to relocate the extender as it might not expand the WiFi if it's placed too far.
