I ended up losing speed and that could have been mostly user error. I’m pretty patient but the connection process to the router maybe frustrating for others.

Keep in mind, it doesn't extend your network, it rebroadcasts a new one and names it almost identical. For our AC network, the original network is stronger than the re-broadcast. But this did take care of those small electronics in back rooms that need wifi to update firmware.

The RE6300 is designed to extend your coverage to get a better connection especially in areas where Wi-Fi is non-existent. But, the internet speed still depends on how much the extender gets from the router. That’s why proper placement is an important factor. Make sure that the device still gets an optimum connection, so it can also perform well. The antenna positioning may also help.
