I begin having issues when I tried pairing the extender with my router. It literally took me about 3-4 hrs. to get it working. Once it was connected all of the devices in the home began having problems connecting to the internet. We had to call our service provider to fix the problem. This extender was not what I expected. Buyer beware...

Works OK, not completely satisfied

However, the WiFi extender can go down whereas the actual original connection stays up. I would still recommend, but this may not completely solve WiFi issues.

It worked...for about 5 minutes and then would drop the connection. No reason why it should drop but it never worked right. I replaced with a used Netgear router to do the same thing and it worked fine. I suspect that it was a communication issue and that this would work in a home environment, but it didn't work for my needs.

It took me 2 days of reading linksys website and trying over and over again all the different things they suggested before it just started working.

I needed this so I can connect my desktop to the extension instead of running a 100ft cord through the whole house. Works great on my computer. Wireless is ok. I tend to disconnect from the ext. and connect to my regular internet instead.

If you want your devices to automatically connect to either the Extender's name or the main Wi-Fi network, you may consider Seamless Roaming which is available on the RE7000 model paired with a supported Linksys Max-Stream router. At first it was a good distance, but now it gets closer and closer to my router to stay within the good range. Would probably go a different route next time.

This solved the problem. Added a second one near my TV upstairs from the router to boost the signal and cut down on buffering.
