Went through all the troubleshooting for improving the connection, but nothing really worked. Ended up taking it back to the store and getting a powerline adapter. If you're reading this, I highly recommend you research powerline adapters. It was the solution for me.

An outdated firmware and distance can cause some connection issues with your range extender. We could have tried to use the spot finder feature on the range extender to find the right spot to place the device and, made sure that the firmware is upgraded.

Physical obstructions may one of the cause for the connection concern. Thus, we suggest you relocate the Linksys RE6300 in between the area withour wireless network and your router. What’s all the hype about WiFi Extenders

I truly feel it was a waste of money... Set up is probably too hard for the average person. Instructions are poor... Would definitely recommend NOT using and look for a different option...Highly disappointed in this product... I think buying a WiFi extender is a waste of time but that’s just me...

In order to fully maximize the functionality of the extender, it should be placed in between the router and the area that you want to cover. Just make sure that it still get at least three WiFi bars from the router. Goes into a loop where it connects and loses connection. Went with another brand and that extender worked fine out of the box. If you like russian roulette, go ahead and buy this product. If you do not, stay far from it.

I had many troubles during the installation process, but the worst part came when I tried to put them at the place I needed, they didn’t work because the place was to far from the router even though the distance was less than the range of those devices.

There are factors that possibly caused the challenge as the setup process is made fast and easy using the Smart Setup Wizard. As for the limited range, physical obstructions and interference need to be considered. Utilizing the Spot Finder technology and updating the firmware might help.
