Signal can come and go at times and the security on it is also questionable. I've had my firewall stop several IP reputation attacks against the extender. Probably wouldn't buy again.

If you’re unable to properly set up the Linksys RE6300, then we may try to reset the extender to its default settings. However, if you’re able to set it up, then please make sure to place the extender near to the router, or it should get enough internet connection from the router. The product is not very user friendly and very hard to actually get connected to your home network. The renge extension is not fantastic and i ended up just putting it back and the box and out in the garage.

It ruined the original WiFi source that was in my house. I bought it to extend the WiFi to another part of the house and it didn’t allow me to connect to my original WiFi hotspot since it deletes that as an option every time I plug this in. I even tried the online setup and tried configuring settings and that didn’t work either.

The setup process of the Linksys RE6300 is easy as it no longer need to have an installation software or setup CD. However, the extender should also not interfere with the connection of the router, thus it should only extend its range. If you’ve set the extender settings same with the router, then you may try changing it especially the wireless name and observe if the same concern appears. Update us then over email at LinksysCares@linksys.com with your contact info so we can have this checked with our Escalation Engineers.
