Thanks for the honest review. The strategic location for range extenders is in between the router and the device that is out of range. You may utilize the spot finder feature for that. If you’re unable to properly set up the Linksys RE6300, then we may try to reset the extender to its default settings. However, if you’re able to set it up, then please make sure to place the extender near to the router, or it should get enough internet connection from the router. We suggest you install your Linksys RE6300 midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi and ensure that it gets 50-percent of your router's Wi-Fi signal. We'd like to look into this better as the RE6300 extender should have easily expanded your WiFi and eliminated dead spots through your home. The product is not very user friendly and very hard to actually get connected to your home network. The renge extension is not fantastic and i ended up just putting it back and the box and out in the garage.
