We'd like to look into this better as the RE6300 extender should have easily expanded your WiFi and eliminated dead spots through your home. It ruined the original WiFi source that was in my house. I bought it to extend the WiFi to another part of the house and it didn’t allow me to connect to my original WiFi hotspot since it deletes that as an option every time I plug this in. I even tried the online setup and tried configuring settings and that didn’t work either.

The setup process of the Linksys RE6300 is easy as it no longer need to have an installation software or setup CD. However, the extender should also not interfere with the connection of the router, thus it should only extend its range. If you’ve set the extender settings same with the router, then you may try changing it especially the wireless name and observe if the same concern appears. Just ok.

The product is not very user friendly and very hard to actually get connected to your home network. The renge extension is not fantastic and i ended up just putting it back and the box and out in the garage.

We must make sure to plug the Linksys RE6300 in between your router and the area you wished to extend the connection, and it should get atleast 50 percent of the connection from your router. Moving out of the room, but only 30 feet away from router, got an "amber" light that only improved output signal by one bar. Bought this unit with intent to set up 50 feet from router and get a strong signal ... no dice.
