The Linksys RE6300 is expected to boosts a Wi Fi signal coverage up to 6,500 square feet. Make sure to run the latest firmware and place the unit to a spot away from physical obstructions. We must make sure to plug the Linksys RE6300 in between your router and the area you wished to extend the connection, and it should get atleast 50 percent of the connection from your router. In a hotel, I didn’t so this was useless. I needed a device to get a wireless signal and provide a CAT5 cable connection for my work computer. The settings are locked on the laptop and wireless is turned off. Evidently, there is no device that will do what I need.

Moving out of the room, but only 30 feet away from router, got an "amber" light that only improved output signal by one bar. Bought this unit with intent to set up 50 feet from router and get a strong signal ... no dice.
