If placed too far from an existing router, a range extender may not expand Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi may be spotty. The Spot Finder feature does a great job of helping users find the best position for optimum performance. It did not provide much Wifi coverage improvement

I tried many locations for placement with not much difference in performance. I finally returned it. I then installed a Google Mesh system. Much more expensive but it really worked well. Hi speed wifi everywhere.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. You can tweak the position of the antennas to get maximum coverage. For a single story house, both antennas should be pointing down while a multi-story house requires the second antenna to be positioned differently depending on where the extender is located and where the wireless coverage is needed.
