I tried many locations for placement with not much difference in performance. I finally returned it. I then installed a Google Mesh system. Much more expensive but it really worked well. Hi speed wifi everywhere.

Had to reboot frequently. Did not work as promised, either in WiFi extension mode, or hardwired to a cat 5 wire from the modem. No longer use it, switched to a much more effective mesh WiFi System.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. You can tweak the position of the antennas to get maximum coverage. For a single story house, both antennas should be pointing down while a multi-story house requires the second antenna to be positioned differently depending on where the extender is located and where the wireless coverage is needed. Excellent range extender

But the speed was even slower through the extender even though I have full bars when I connected to it. It was fine for text and phone but not for pictures and social media, movies etc. I returned it.
