There's a lot to be considered in setting up the range extender including distance and location, physical obstructions, and interference. However, making sure that there is a clear line of sight between the range extender and router and using the Spot Finder feature of the range extender would help. This device should help you extend the Wi-Fi coverage up to 6,500 square feet in a clear line of sight. It's best to reposition the antennas since you noticed that it did not carry out the range you were expecting. That would enable it to provide the maximum coverage.
