If your RE6300 Wireless Extender is properly positioned and the firmware is updated, it should be able to repeat your Wi-Fi signal without degrading the speed that your router provides. We recommend taking advantage of the Spot Finder Technology feature to help you relocate the extender for an optimal performance. Works but limited capability

It does not reset automatically if you loose connection. Since spectrum keeps loosing signal i have to constantly unplug and plug to reconnect to the main router.

Make sure that you got the latest firmware of the Range Extender to optimize its performance. Also, maintaining that the device is getting a good signal from the router and situated accordingly normally helps improve the range. A particular area where I use wireless devices is about 70 feet from the modem and router, with no walls in between. Seems close but very poor signal. I placed this range extender halfway between the router and the same area, about 35 feet from each. It has made no difference whatsoever. In fact, at times the signal from the router is indicated to be stronger than the signal from the range extender. I kept trying different locations to no avail; unfortunately it's now too late to return it. Now I have something to contribute on electronics-recycling day this month.
