The performance of the range extender would depend on its location and the type of router that you're using. It's recommended to place the unit where it is getting at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal and is located midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi.

The range extender may not expand Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi may be spotty if placed too far from an existing router. Use the Spot Finder of the RE6300 that automatically calculates the best place for extender based on the capability of your router. You can also tweak the position of its antennas.
