Certainly, this is not the experience that we want you to have with the extender. There are 2 applicable configurations for the Linksys RE6300 - as a range extender (wireless to the router) and as an access point (wired to the router). Make sure to select the correct configuration. Also, for the range extender configuration, the best spot is in between the router and the device(s) that are out of range.

Does not work well

It has poor range, poor consistency, and every once in awhile I do happen to get connection, the speeds I'm getting is abysmal. I went from 120 mb/s to 8. Took around 10 times to try connecting to the router as well. I've never seen such a useless product and baffled that best buy is even selling this garbage. Save yourself the trouble and headache and spend $60 more and get a Nest.
