unable to install, worked on it several hours without sucess! tried online help, to no avail! thankful best buy took it back!

I wouldn’t recommend this. It won’t hold connection.

Online the claim was that this WiFi extender would cover 6000 square feet. Do the math and get a circle with a radius (reach) of about 45 feet. Ah, the box then says 1000 square feet, or a radius of about 18 feet - not useful! I tried it in 3 locations at our school, which, admittedly, has some steel studs in the walls. It did not work. I plugged in an 8-year-old Belkin and that worked fine!

There are a couple ways to setup the wireless range extender, Browser-based, using wifi or ethernet. The other way is using WPS. The instructions are included in the box and its very easy to setup. I went with the Ethernet cable, I plugged a CAT5 into the range extender and the other end into my computer to set it up. Like i said it was very easy, I just went to 192.168.1.1 and followed the instructions. Once I had it configured I placed it in my garage, I then went to the back of my house where I could never get a 5ghz wifi connection and I was able to get 85mbps download and 25mbps upload. I was shocked that I went from not being able to see my 5ghz network to those speeds. I also went to my mailbox and was able to stay connected to the 5ghz network and still reach speeds of 50/20. So pretty much any where in my yard I can have a connection, not to mention walk down the street and still have a connection. I had no issues streaming music, or watching youtube on any of the 2.4 or 5 ghz networks. The range extender is easy to setup and use. I no longer have to worry about dead spots in my house. I did receive this as a free sample from Linksys in exchange for your honest feedback.

Continually disconnects from the internet. Many times the 2G option disappears. have to reset a lot. Would not recommend.

Don't waste your time. Will not connect and remain connected. Lost 2 valuable hours of my life that I can not get back. Proof you get what you pay for.

A 250mb/sec Internet connection was slowed to 25mb using this thing. I wanted to extend wifi to my bedroom from the living room for a little extra boost... this was horrible. Not to mention, auto WPA connection will not work with all routers. I can’t say which options would be better than this, but I can say that it’s not good at all and I will be returning.

It was suppose to be easy and I was told I could use 2 extenders to improve my wifi signal in my home. Setup was NOT easy since the instructions were terrible describing how to conform setup actually worked. Color light descriptions were not accurate either. I tried setting up 1 at first. it never worked. Tried setting up the 2nd unit. It seemed to work, but did not appear to help. returned both to store. Customer service did not seem to care not offer any help.

You’re better off moving your AP to the center of the house and boosting your Comcast or Fios for all they offer.

Extends the signal but the speed really takes a dive along with ping times. Look for an alternative this isn't worth it

This Linksys AC750 Boost WiFi Range Extender model RE6300 never worked. The instructions were simple however all of my devices kept losing connection. When I would try to log into the Linksys range extender settings the site kept giving the error message of this site's IP address could not be found. Linksys' customer service was great at answering their phone but for me most were hard to understand and we never got anywhere. After two days and a total of 6 hours on the phone with them I gave up and am returning this product, for it never worked properly.

Member of Geek Squad explained that if the original signal is not strong enough, then extending the signal will make it weaker. Please be sure to check your router output strength before buying an extender.

Did not work With Frontier Wi-Fi. Had to return for refund.

This product has very limited internet expansion and only works best in small spaces. I had to return my Lynksys Boost Range Extender for that reason.

Well it worked some times. Other times it didn’t. If you buy it make sure it works before you can get a refund for it

I didn’t find this product to be useful for me. I didn’t give it but a couple of tries. It didn’t boost my internet WiFi at all. It stayed the same.

If you buy the product for the real purpose of expanding your home Wi-Fi the product is a great solution. I tried setting up on an Android Phone and IE11. Both can be done in under 3 minutes. The issues the tech people will have is the unit wants to take your network name and add the word _EXT. So Netname becomes Netname_ext. So for me in a 2 story house I have to remember to switch my Wi-Fi network when I move from one floor to another to get the optimal signal. I tried naming the same against the setup instructions and it can be done but my devices will not switch automatically. There are also some issues from other reviewers regarding MAC address filtering and if you want to use the feature you may be disappointed. The booster does do the job and I was able to extend my signal to my rear yard and inside my garage when placed near the area because of exterior walls. In summary if you just want to extend your network and boost an average to low signal you can virtually get a 100% signal but in my speed test I did lose about 15% speed. So for a simple expansion of your network accept you will have 2 network names in the house and you will be happy with the results and ease of setup. For the real techies who want everything and be able to change all the settings as they do in a router consider a higher end solution. Use it for its intended purpose and you will be very happy.
