    Wasted time on customer service. I could connect to network but still had same dead spots. Even tried hardwire through Ethernet port in room with dead spot. Still had issues. This device does not do what it claims it will do. At least not for me. I returned it and bought new motem and router and that solved my problem

We could have tried relocating the Linksys RE6300 midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi, and it should get at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal.     After 3 weeks in use, there seems to be little appreciable difference in reception.

    The extender kept losing signal. I tried moving it to different outlets closer to the modem but that didn’t work either. So back to Best Buy it went. I was glad the store accepted it even though it was 2 days beyond the 15-day rule. I am not discounting the fact that my modem is 2 years old though and maybe the extender was not compatible.

      By design, the Linksys RE6300 allows you to extend the range of your wireless router up to 6,500 square feet in a perfect environment. Thus, we must always consider physical obstructions and wireless interference as they may cause a connection concern. Try power cycling and relocating the extender for isolation. Make sure that your devices are within the line of sight of the unit, and place the extender in between the router and the area you wish to extend the wireless network, where the extender gets enough connection from the router.       The range extender should provide a stable connection once it's set up. There's a possibility that the placement of the unit is affecting its wireless performance. It's recommended to place it on where you are getting at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal and is located midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi.
