Posted .Hi, CH07,
It could be that the extender is not on a proper and optimum location. It should be placed between the router and the area where you want to extend the connection, but it should get at least 3 WiFi bars from the router. Allow us to have our Escalation Engineers assist you further. Just send us an email at LinksysCares@linksys.com with your contact information and a link to this review as our reference.

Not great for an old house with plaster walls
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does not work in an old house with plaster walls! The purpose behind purchase was to extend the WiFi internet throughout the house, but this did not work in a 2400 sq foot house with plaster walls.

Doesn’t work.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve purchased this item for extending baby monitor range while on WiFi since cell service is terrible. It lags more standing beside it while connected than 2 bar 3G cell service. I do not recommend this product.

Not worth it
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a pain to setup. Once setup signal did not increase at all. Stay away, pay a little more and get a mesh router instead.

Posted .Hi,
We like hearing your insightful comments. We are sorry to hear that the extender gave you trouble. We can guarantee that this is not what to expect from it, especially if a strong Wi-Fi connection exists and the necessary Wi-Fi settings are in place. WPS pairing (which works when the router supports it too) or manual setup both make the setup process simple. In addition, our 2nd Level Team looks forward to hearing from you. Your contact information, network information, and a link to this review can be sent to LinksysCares@linksys.com for our consideration.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This did not work me. The building that I am in is very old so this could have been the problem. I forgot to return within the time frame and now I am stuck with this product.

Skip it - go mesh instead
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was difficult to get paired. Adds yet another wifi signal to the house and slows the whole whole down. Go with a mesh network instead of an extender.

Posted .Hi grumpy1016,
It is recommended to place the Linksys RE6300 midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi and ensure that it gets 50-percent of your router's Wi-Fi signal. We'd like to have this investigated by our Escalation Engineers by sending us an email at [email protected] with your contact info and the link of this review for our reference.

Terrible wifi extender
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Followed instructions exactly. Repeatedly restarted it. It creates an EXT version of the wifi. Consistently is SLOWER than the original wifi. Now is just a paperweight.

Posted .Hi, Rick79912.
Thank you for your feedback. As long as there is an active Wi-Fi connection and the wireless security modes (WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode, and WEP) are met, the extender should work. If this is for the first time, we recommend resetting it to factory default to ensure that any previously configured settings are removed. Please send the link to your review to LinksysCares@linksys.com. Instead, we'll have our 2nd Level Team look into it.

Posted .Hi, allij,
You can try to relocate the RE6300 WiFi extender using Spot Finder Technology. If placed too far or too near from the router, a range extender may not expand WiFi or WiFi may be spotty. Spot Finder helps ensure your Linksys range extender is in the right spot.
