Linksys AC 750 would not connect toT-Mobile router

I bought the Linksys AC750 to assist with an HP Laptop which was dropping the wi-fi connection in my 2 story home. I had difficulty getting the Linksys AC 750 to connect to my TMobile router. Since the router did not have a WPS button, I tried the browser based set-up. No go. The Linksys extender could not recognize the Tmobile Wi-Fi router even though it was plugged in a AC outlet a few feet away from the router. I will be taking the Linksys extender back to Best Buy tomorrow.

      Hi, MrsD,

Factory resetting the range extender might do the trick, as it’ll refresh the device’s system. If that won’t help, please reconsider and allow us to assist you first instead. Just email us at LinksysCares@linksys.com along with a link to this review as our reference.

    Great Extender

I had purchased a ring doorbell installed but had a dead zone by the door. I purchased the AC Boost extender to see if would solve the problem. It did to my surprise. I had to delete my wifi from my phone and installed the ext, so far its working. The reason I didn't give it a 5 star I wanted to move it closer to the door, it didn't work. It was so easy to install I think it took 5 mins.

    Best $50 I've Ever Spent

    Posted .

This is without doubt the best item I've bought for $50. I recently just bought a gaming PC but I knew my internet would be a problem because my room is the furthest from the router. We also have a lot of electronics connected to our Wifi, such as 2 other computers, 5 iPhones, an iPad, 2 Xbox One's, and 2 Xbox 360's (most of which are not all on 24\7 of course). Also our router is in a room that is located just beside our kitchen (Appliances decrease signal strength even more when the wifi has to go through or by them)). Just before heading out to buy this adapter I did a speed check from my room and was getting 2 m/b download MAX. after getting it and setting it up, I now get 35-50 m/b download. Upload also increased significantly. It not only boost your normal 2.4 gb wifi but also your 5 gb if you wanted it too. Great purchase. Totally recommend.

    Does what it says!

Let me start this review by stating that I received this product as a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback. This is a great product. It was very easy to set up once I did the "browser-based" set-up option. I did try using WPS, but I had no luck with that. Once it was set up, it has been working flawlessly. My favorite feature of this device is that it has a gigabit ethernet jack so that if you have a device that can't use WiFI but it has ethernet (such as my desktop at home), you can simply plug-in to this range extender via ethernet and you have instant wireless capabilities on your device! So far, this device has been rock solid and I have not had any trouble with it, aside from some initial difficulty trying to get the WPS set-up option to work.

    Easy and fast

Read the reviews here and on other sites. Decided to get it and I'm not disappointed. I had this up and running within 10min. The bedroom in the furthest part of the house had a very weak connection to the router. I installed the extender in between the router and the bedroom. On the first shot, I got it in the middle of the range bar that is provided during setup. I didn't think after installing it that i'd now have a full connection all the way into the backyard as well. A place that I usually had a 1 bar signal to the router. Now I can stream music without having an issue with a connection. I would definitely recommend this. It's so easy that even a person that is not technology savy can get this setup if they follow the basic instructions.

Does not work with Spectrum router model RAC2V1K

FYI - Spent 2 days trying to set up this range extender with a Spectrum router at a friend's house. Took it home and it set up in 5 minutes with my Trendnet router. Back at my friend's house called Spectrum, they couldn't figure it out but said to call Linksys. After describing everything she confirmed there is a problem with Internet connectivity with this particular Spectrum router. Buyer beware.

      Hello, Pitbullzz,

The Linksys RE6300 is designed to increase the range of an existing Wi-Fi network, and can be used as either a wired or a wireless extender. Know that its overall performance depends on your ISP's subscription, at its proper placement, and on the main router's settings. For better assistance by one of our Escalation Engineers, please email us the link to this post at [email protected] along with your contact details.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Easy Install -- BUT Question on Connection Speed

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Install was easy. Followed the 4 steps and boom, connection solid. Question, however, about the connection speed. I ran a series of tests on my base Wifi connection and then through my EXT connections of the Linksys. Each time I ran the test, the speed on through the EXT connections was approximately 50% slower than through the underlying 5.0 ghz or 2.4 Ghz connection. What gives? Wasnt expecting a boost in speed, but certainly wasnt expecting a slow down of this magnitude.

    Completely Useless

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

So, if I decide to buy a Wi-fi extender it means I need to extend my wi-fi signal. So during the first steps of setting up the wi-fi extender, I start by placing it right next to my router (literally, less than a foot away from it). I set up the extender, and when I use the spot finder (feature which is supposed to tell me whether I have positioned the extender too close or too far from the source) it tells me that it is in the perfect spot. I am a bit confused, as it is LITERALLY right next to the router. So I moved it a bit further away. In the instructions, they say to put it half-way between the router and the spot with no signal. I do that, and at that location I have about 50% signal (which is what the manual recommends). Great, I leave it there and I go back to check the spot finder. TOO FAR. It says my extender is now too far, and it is about 10 feet away from the router. If I was supposed to place it on top on my router I would have simply bought a new more powerful router!! It does extend the signal to the spot where I did not have it, but the signal is weak, and very inconsistent. Save yourself some money and anger, just buy a more powerful router if you can, and if not go with the mesh wi-fi. This piece is a waste of money in most occasions, it probably works in very specific set-ups only.
