I bring it home and try to set it up, only for it to say its disconnected from my computer when it, in fact, is STILL CONNECTED. I couldnt get the setup to resume, so I called Linksys (mind you--at 1am eastern time) and their recording says they have higher than average calls. Seriously?! At 1am?! I've been waiting for twenty minutes already and I'm so angry because their loop of music makes it sound like someone is about to help you, then it goes into the music. I will NEVER buy another Linksys product EVER. I am taking this back for a REFUND tomorrow morning and I will NEVER recommend Linksys products.

This is complete junk easy to hack and I purchased 2 of them. The 1st one 5MHz never would connect and the other when I would get more than 10 feet away from the router it would drop the connection every couple of minutes. I am returning these paperweight.

Failed for me

However, it failed to provide me with uninterrupted streaming. I returned it and have moved up to the AC1200. We'll see if that works. It's not looking good yet. The LED light on the AC1200 is still blinking after 5 minutes. UGHHH!

Won' work with Spectrum modem/router

Spent hours trying to get it to work. Decided to call Linksys technical support and as soon as I the personI I have a Spectrum modem and router he basically told me to return the extender to the store because it will not work with Spectrum.

This helped a little, until I bought the ring doorbell kit with additional cameras. The cameras are literally within 20 feet and can't connect to the network. What good is this thing if its range is less than 20 feet? I'm either returning this extender or the entire doorbell kit tomorrow.

The RE6300 can boost your router's Wi-Fi signal up to 6,500 Sq. Ft. The placement of your range extender is important for you to maximize its full potential. It would be best to place the unit in an area where it is getting at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal and is located midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi.

Don't BUY!!!

Had to unplug and plug back in over and over.... Customer support was TERRIBLE. Tried to return to Best Buy. They told me I had to contact the company for replacement.. I told them to toss it in the garbage and walked out. Bought the NETGEAR AC750 at Walmart. Work perfectly. Not shopping at Best Buy again. Why bother.

I bought this to extend to my shed that is FAR less than that and it only extended the WiFi to the door. Anything past that wouldn’t work. Piece of junk.

Does Not Live Up to Expectations

The Linksys range extender works best when placed between where your main router is and the location where you want to extend the Wi-Fi signal. This way, it will receive a stable signal from your main router.

Just like other Linksys networking products, hooking up the RE6300 Extender is easy as long as your router has an active Wi-Fi connection and the extender is positioned at least 50% from your router's Wi-Fi signal.
