I started working from home and have a desktop that had to be directly connected to the router for internet connection (or so I thought). Turns out I could use this product to reach the router wirelessly so I can move the computer anywhere I want in the house. No need to install anything, just plug it into the outlet, connect the computer, press a button and that's it!

One of the things you give up with these lower end extenders is that your SSID is appended (in this case) a '_ext' to the network name, which means you must join this network explicitly to get to the connected WiFi. An inconvenience, but something you give up in this price range.

I had a lot of trouble syncing it with the modem-router. However I have to say that the inconsistent signal strength from Comcast was at least part of the problem. Once I was able to get the unit synced it worked well. It doesn't have quite the range that I need although that can vary depending on the weather and how many local users are on the Comcast node with me. I have noticed recently that this has been less of a problem. I recommend this unit but would caution that you should budget a significant amount of time to get it set up.

Setting up the RE6300 wireless extender should be fast and easy through its browser-based setup page. Before you start the installation process, make sure to take note of the following :
* An active 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz wireless network connection
* Wireless network settings
* Wireless Network Name (SSID)
* Password or Security Key

Needed a Little Boost, This does the job
