Make sure you read the directions thoroughly. I almost returned it to the store. But it extends our wifi. Installed in my sons room so he doesn't have any problems with his gaming.

Noticed we've still had a couple random disconnects which is the only reason it's not a 5. Trying to determine if it's that or the router and if it's the router I'll go back and adjust the rating

For a stable connectivity, make sure that your RE6300 Extender is running on its latest firmware version and is relocated to a spot at least 50% of your router's Wi-Fi signal. We have had no lag time on the tv downstairs since setting this range extender up. The wireless router is on a floor above.

The placement of the RE6300 and the type of router that you're using are just a few of the factors that can affect the unit's performance. Make sure that your range extender is getting at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal and is located midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi.

I now can reach the signal from the very back outside of the house to outside front of the house.

When setting up the Linksys RE6300, we recommend it to place it somewhere near with the router before relocating the extender. Also, upon relocating it, we must ensure that it gets enough or at least 50% of the connection from the router. I did have a problem trying to get it to pick up the signal. So instead I justplugged it into the Ethernet jack and boom, it works GREAT.
